The Upwright family has regained the monopoly on o The Upwright family has regained the monopoly on operating the stagecoaches from Ankh-Morpork to other cities. The coaches stop at fixed points along the way, and for a small fee, at any other desired location. After the takeover and reconstruction of the Post Office by Moist von Lipwig, the service has returned to its former reliability. At least now, people know where and for how much they'll be robbed and ripped off along the way.

Reginald Shoe Originally from Whalebone Lane, Reg Reginald Shoe

Originally from Whalebone Lane, Reg was a one-man cell in the revolution, which revolution was irrelevant. Ignored by the real revolutionaries, he continued more as a city dreamer than in the city guerrilla.

Reg died during the events of The People's Revolution of the Glorious Twenty-Fifth of May. As much of an idealist and wannabe revolutionary in life as he is in death, he was repeatedly struck by crossbow bolts while defending his home streets around Whalebone Lane against Carcer and his men during the Glorious Revolution in Ankh-Morpork.

Mr Josiah Boggis, president of the Thieves Guild, Mr Josiah Boggis, president of the Thieves Guild, is a slightly sallow, seedy, man in middle age who affects a brown bowler hat, believed to be a badge denoting his professional office. He is not especially bright, and the Gamblers' Guild has noted for professional reasons that he would not be terribly good at poker - his thinking patterns and reactions are far too obvious and he has no concept of subtlety.

Footnote

said Constable Visit.*

Constable Visit-The-Ungodly-With-Explanatory-Pamphlets was a good copper, Vimes always said, and that was his highest term of praise. He was an Omnian with his coutrymen's almost pathological interest in evangelical religion and spent all his wages on pamphlets; he'd even had his own printing press. The results were handed out to anyone interested and everyone who wasn't interested as well. Even Dtritus coudn't clear a crowd faster than Visit, Vimes said. And on his days off he could be seen tramoing the streets with his colleague, Smite-The-Unbeliever-With-Cunning-Arguments. So far they hadn't made a single convert. Vimes thought that Visit was probably a really nice man underneath it all, but somehow he could never face the task of finding out.
