Tree’s End

The end of the city wall, this is were the modern city begins. Or the part of town were one believes they don’t need a wall anymore. Through the years a small seedling had time to grow into something majestic and green in the gray city. The forestmen are finding a oerfect home away from home in it.

This MOC took nearly three years to complete, just laying around waiting for completion. I knew I wanted a tree with forestmen but couldn’t get past a crumbling wall. The LEGO Treehouse was in for the sport but that isn’t MOC-ing and it didn’t really fit with the layout. At a Lowlug meeting I got hold of some Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with Studs on Side and I got to fiddle around with them. It took me several tries but suddenly the tree came to live. In a period of several weeks I took ot down and put it up again to come to the end result. I have learned more tree branch making techniques then I thought existed with this.

I have tried to integrate some old forestmen looks into the MOC like the blue roof and the vine with a forestman. Too bad the original forestwoman is very hard to find so her place was taken by the female minifig from the Blacksmith Shop. The names Tower’s End and Tree’s End are inspired by the foundation book series and radio dramatizations by Isaac Asimov, another of my favourite authors
